Cirrus announced they have joined the Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider programme, offering customers and independent software vendors greater confidence from a partner ecosystem when building their next-generation IT projects using Red Hat solutions. As a Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider, Cirrus plans to use Red Hat JBoss and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to offer its customers in the banking and finance, and insurance industries Platform-as-a-Service solutions, as well as to design and deploy customised applications for the sectors.
Cirrus, part of TrustTech Holding, provides enterprise cloud computing solutions and managed services, catering to different service models and deployment scenarios. Growing competition in the region’s banking and finance sector is driving innovation as organisations seek to roll-out services in line with market needs.
Cirrus sees this as an opportunity to engage with small and medium organisations and enable them to compete effectively with powerful yet cost-effective cloud-based solutions. The service provider has already on-boarded its first customer for its Red Hat-based PaaS offering.
The Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider programme was created to offer additional flexibility to help solution providers better meet customer needs for cloud-based Red Hat technologies. By using a Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider, customers and partners using custom-developed or third-party ISV applications certified to Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other Red Hat solutions, can have greater confidence that these applications will function as expected when using them on a public cloud or managed service provider.
Cloud provider models have expanded beyond multi-tenant public clouds to include private cloud build-outs, Linux container-based infrastructure and PaaS solutions., and the Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider programme provides partner solutions for both cases.
Red Hat’s Certified Cloud and Service Provider designation is awarded to Red Hat partners following validation by Red Hat. Each provider must meet testing and certification requirements to demonstrate that they can deliver a safe, scalable, supported and consistent environment for enterprise cloud deployments. The globally-unified programme provides customers, ISVs, and partners with the confidence that Red Hat product experts have validated a given solution so that implementations can begin with a solid foundation.
“This agreement is a first step in a clearly defined roadmap for Cirrus in the Middle East. We aim to rapidly ramp our expertise on Red Hat’s solution and use the platform to develop an array of new services that address the needs of our valued customers in the banking, finance and insurance verticals,” said Nassib Chamoun, General Manager at Cirrus. “At the same time, we also intend to expand our relationship with Red Hat so that together, we can deliver more secure and cost-effective open source solutions to customers in the region.”
“We are excited to work with Cirrus as a Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider and as part of the Red Hat partner ecosystem,” said Mike Ferris, Vice President, Business Development, Red Hat. “We are committed to offering customers and developers broad choice in the cloud, and key to that vision is building a strong ecosystem of partners that can enable users to build and deploy the best applications possible. We look forward to collaborating with Cirrus so that they can grow their cloud offerings with Red Hat.”
