Dubai Technology Partners, a systems integrator part of Al Mansoori Group, and SAP demonstrated LiveAir at Gitex Technology Week 2016. LiveAir, a solution that utilises Amazon’s virtual personal assistant Alexa, was demonstrated at the Smart Dubai stand. The partnership between the aviation tech players was announced at Gitex 2016.
The new solution allows passengers and airport staff to ask questions and receive answers about airport information and flight boarding times and delays. Additionally they can use a touch table for way finding and flight information. With the global aviation analytics market set to double from $2 billion in 2016 to $4 billion by 2021, according to Markets and Markets, real time analytics is helping airport operators and airlines better manage aircraft turn around, crowd control, and back end operations. Dubai International Airport, Al Maktoum International Airport, and Abu Dhabi International Airport are set to triple their total capacity to about 350 million passengers by 2023.
“Real time technology helps airport operators monitor and forecast flights and passengers, freeing up staff for mission critical activities to enhance the passenger experience. Dubai Technology Partners uses innovative technology in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Maktoum Airports, and Emirates Airlines to help more people in the UAE travel efficiently and enjoyably,” said Abdul Razzak Mikati, Managing Director, Dubai Technology Partners.
Dubai Technology Partners’ Flight Performance Monitor and forecasting solutions are running on the in-memory SAP HANA platform, including passenger and flight visualisation, forecasting, and decision making. Worldwide, SAP solutions have saved aviation companies 64% in unplanned downtime and increased operating margins by 76%.
“Artificial intelligence and aviation business applications are making major advancements in the Internet of Things era. SAP is continuing our co-innovation partnership with Smart Dubai and key aviation players to fuel aviation innovation in line with UAE Vision 2021, supporting sustainable infrastructure development and economic growth,” said Tayfun Topkoc, Managing Director, SAP UAE.
