Red Hat has appointed Adrian Pickering as Regional Head for Middle East and North Africa. Pickering brings to Red Hat over 30 years of high-level technology leadership experience having worked in a variety of sales and management roles.
He was previously Vice President, Middle East and Africa at Juniper Networks for over five years. At Juniper Networks, Pickering grew the business by double digits across his full term, and made improvements in sales productivity, margins, go to market, best practices, strategic accounts, strategic relationships, operating expenses, employee attrition, customer endorsements.
Prior to Juniper Networks, Pickering worked for an extended duration of time, from 1998 to 2011 at Cisco Systems in a variety of roles. These included Senior Director Strategic Projects, Cisco Emerging Markets East; Director, Emerging Markets Service Provider Video and Triple Play Solutions; Director, Service Provider Strategic Accounts; Regional Sales Manager, UK Service Providers; Regional Sales Manager, BT Account. Before joining Cisco, Pickering was at Nortel Networks.
Pickering moved to UAE in 2004 and over the last ten years has worked across emerging economies including Middle East, Africa, Russia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
He has educational qualifications from Kingston University and University of Witwatersrand.
