Marriott International signed a distribution co-operation agreement with Al Tayyar Travel Group, which will establish direct connectivity between the two companies, allowing Al Tayyar Travel Group to pull inventory and rates in real time from Marriott International’s reservations systems.
This agreement is mutually beneficial to both companies as Marriott International will have access to Al Tayyar Travel Group’s wide-reaching network within Saudi Arabia and beyond. Marriott International has enjoyed a partnership with Al Tayyar Travel Group in the region for many years.
Al Tayyar Travel Group has grown to become a leading travel and tourism company in Saudi Arabia and across the MENA region. The company’s key operational focus areas are travel and hospitality. In travel, Al Tayyar is the largest travel management company with a strong network of 400 point of sales across the Saudi Arabia. Al Tayyar is targeting the growing online travel segment through their own fast growing and highly popular brands: Almosafer and Tajawal.
In hospitality, the company is targeting the mid-market hospitality segment and hotel management. It currently has five operational hotels in Jeddah and Makkah is aiming to develop and operate a further 30 hotels with 6,000 rooms by 2022. The company also has a car rental business, with access to all major airports and an investment portfolio, which include key stakes in car-hailing app Careem and UK travel management company Portman.
