Oracle Cloud Infrastructure joins VMware Cloud Universal Program

VMware has expanded its ongoing partnership with Oracle to assist customers in modernizing their VMware workloads on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Under the expanded partnership, customers will be able to enroll in the Oracle Cloud VMware Solution as part of the VMware Cloud Universal program, a flexible purchasing and consumption program that helps businesses streamline procurement and accelerate the adoption of eligible VMware cloud services. The VMware Cloud Universal program is suitable for customers with a hybrid cloud architecture, extended or variable cloud migration timelines, or cloud bursting requirements.

With VMware Cloud Universal, customers purchase credits that can be used to deploy workloads on the Oracle Cloud VMware Solution. By applying their credits to Oracle Cloud VMware Solution subscriptions, customers can take advantage of a simplified mechanism for managing their cloud-related expenses. Additionally, the VMware Cloud Acceleration Benefit provides Cloud Universal customers with a flexible way to leverage the value of their VMware Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) perpetual licenses as they migrate on-premises workloads to the Oracle Cloud VMware Solution.

The Oracle Cloud VMware Solution is designed for enterprises demanding the highest levels of scalability, performance, security and administrative control. Customers can directly manage cloud infrastructure and VMware consoles for complete administrative control over the entire VMware stack. This enables companies to swiftly migrate on-premises VMware properties to the cloud using existing skills, best practices and tools.
