VertiGIS appoints industry veteran to lead utility business in the Americas

VertiGIS, a leader in spatial asset management solutions, has announced that Steve Grise has joined the company as the new General Manager for Utilities – Americas.

Grise will be responsible for continuing to grow the VertiGIS footprint in this region as well as building upon its unique partnership with Esri, delivering market-leading GIS software solutions for customers.

Grise has a long history in the GIS industry. In 10 years at Esri, he served as ArcFM Product Manager, and leader of the Esri Data Models Program. He also started Esri’s Enterprise Advantage Program, and ArcGIS Solutions team.

This has given him unique insight into understanding Esri technologies and how organizations and individuals utilize GIS software. Grise  has also founded and ran a successful consulting business, Vertex3, with a focus on strategy, design and build projects with clients.

VertiGIS recently announced a new multinational partnership agreement with Esri, which provides a framework for joint business efforts – ultimately enabling both companies to best serve their global customers. Grise will be responsible for driving business efforts with Esri, reselling, co-selling and co-marketing as well as aligning business and technical strategies in the Americas.

“We are at an important inflection point in the use of GIS software in Water and Energy Utilities,” said Grise. “With VertiGIS Networks, we have a significant change in the way we deliver and use GIS. I’m looking forward to helping customers to understand our product offerings and how they can put them to work. We’ll be working on a North American strategy first; decision-makers and system builders can expect to see us leading the charge to the next generation of network solutions.”

“VertiGIS Networks has been developed and built to help organizations get work done – whether it’s field work, GIS data management, or IT system admin and development work. The company has an impressive, sustainable set of products designed to help utility organizations deliver projects quickly and easily. Additionally, VertiGIS Networks is the only web-first solution in this space. I am looking forward to hitting the ground running and drive these initiatives forward.”
