Blockbit launches XDR to strengthen companies’ digital defense with AI and Machine Learning resources

With modern and advanced techniques for robust and intelligent protection, the new solution offers effective and resilient defense against emerging threats and adapted to the needs of each company.

Blockbit, a leading company in cybersecurity products, has announced the launch of the XDR (Extended Detection and Response) solution, with advanced and effective features for detecting and protecting against threats and attacks in companies of all sizes, with quality and efficiency in an affordable way.

The technology combines Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning to analyze the behavior of users and systems across multiple vectors, such as endpoints, networks, emails and cloud environments. This advanced approach enables early threat detection and effective incident response in real-time, even in the face of emerging attack techniques such as ransomware, phishing and Zero Day attacks.

“The Brazilian digital security market faces increasingly complex challenges, reflecting the global cyber threat landscape. They are aggravated by companies’ often restricted budgets, requiring more efficient and strategic solutions to mitigate risks,” said Lucas Pereira, CTO (Chief Technology Officer) at Blockbit.

According to the executive, companies need specialized resources that protect the business and meet regulations, and can quickly adapt to changes in the cyber environment in an affordable way.

“The launch of Blockbit XDR, which can be contracted in the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, with monthly payments, emerges as a unique response to these challenges. The solution reduces financial barriers to hiring and costs with specialized staff to operate the technology, for example, as Blockbit itself can be responsible for managing the solution at the client,” he said.

XDR was developed by Blockbit Labs, Blockbit’s intelligence lab. The offer is integrated with the company’s new SIEM solution, which works in the management and correlation of security events. From the combination of technologies, it is possible to centralize and correlate all detected events, obtaining a consolidated and detailed view of the companies’ IT environment. This allows for an improvement in the ability to detect risks, issue alerts, mitigate threats, actively respond to complex attack patterns, and co-ordinate incident responses with greater precision and speed, including using historical analysis and real-time statistical bases.

When ransomware attacks a corporate network, for example, XDR detects malicious processes such as file encryption performed on the server, identifying this behavior as an unusual pattern in this system. In response to these signals, XDR immediately and automatically, with no human interaction required, isolates the affected machine, preventing the ransomware from spreading to others.

In case of an attempt at infiltration by malware, XDR identifies the execution of unknown code present in potentially malicious files or the communication with suspicious IP addresses contained in email links. Thus, the solution blocks the attack immediately, preventing the compromise of the endpoint. The technology also performs a detailed analysis of network traffic to identify and block potential connections to command-and-control servers used by hackers. In this way, XDR prevents punctual or generalized infections and protects the integrity of the corporate environment.

To detect suspicious activity in Zero Day attacks, which exploit unknown and as yet undocumented vulnerabilities, Blockbit’s XDR also applies behavioral analysis techniques. If a new type of code attempts to perform unexpected actions or change critical settings on corporate systems without authorization, the solution identifies these activities and initiates an automatic response to contain the threat, such as blocking suspicious processes and quarantining compromised files. This ability to detect and respond to unknown threats helps prevent significant damage.

In addition to the features already highlighted, Blockbit XDR offers a range of advanced features that provide comprehensive protection and ensure compliance in corporate environments. With Blockbit XDR, it is possible to conduct proactive investigations to identify attack patterns and suspicious activity that may go unnoticed by traditional mechanisms.

The product also offers real-time inventory and visibility of assets, while automatically detecting vulnerabilities in outdated software, allowing for preventive actions. In addition, it is possible to ensure continuous compliance with regulations such as LGPD (General Data Protection Law) and PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), mitigating legal and operational risks.

Native integrations with public clouds and containers position Blockbit XDR as a complete and effective solution to protect enterprises against modern and emerging cyberthreats.

“XDR, which is part of the Blockbit Platform, is located in Blockbit’s cloud, offering greater scalability, agility and redundancy to companies in the use of the solution. The technology also delivers comprehensive and detailed reports, which provide overall and historical visibility into security events. With this, the records can be used as tools for investigation and forensic analysis,” said Pereira.

According to the executive, from this, companies have access to contextual analysis of their entire IT environment.

“Blockbit’s XDR eliminates companies’ blind spots and simplifies security operations, being a major advance in asset protection. We are very happy to launch this innovative solution in an affordable way for companies of all sizes in the Brazilian market,” he said.

Blockbit customers who contract the solution will have full support in Portuguese, in addition to continuous maintenance and updates. By being marketed in the SaaS model, with monthly payments in reais, the solution provides flexibility, predictability and cost reduction, since companies are not subject to exchange rate fluctuations that are common when hiring solutions in other currencies.

With this, Blockbit continues on its journey to make cybersecurity increasingly accessible to all businesses.
